Avoid contact with eyes by all means. If contact with eyes occurs immediately rinse with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention.
Avoid contact with skin. If contact with the skin occurs rinse with soap and clean water for 10 to 15 minutes. Your skin may turn white temporarily. The whiteness will subside after rinsing with soap and water and will disappear completely in about 30 minutes. Your skin may feel tingly and burn until soap and water are applied. It is a good idea to wear a pair of nitrile gloves and eye protection when handling or diluting 35%.
If you receive a shipment that has leaked. Hey we are going to be honest, it’s happened a couple of times over the last 8 years. If you suspect a bottle has leaked, evidenced by wetness or possible a droplet on the inside of the bag, place the package either in the sink or on a surface that will not be damaged if the hydrogen peroxide makes contact with and goes unnoticed. A sink or outside works best. If your hands felt wetness after placing them in package we recommend washing your hands and putting on gloves and eye protection before opening the package. Safety first.
Open the package slowly, check lid to make sure it’s tight and rinse outside of bottle with water, as well as any packaging that was affected. Dry the bottle off and discard the packaging. Minor leakage although rare can happen during travel over high mountain passes. After rinsing, the hydrogen peroxide can be safely used as normal. If any bulging is observed, slightly crack the cap open to release pressure. Please contact us in the rare event one of these problems occurs with your shipment, we want to help.
With the increase in popularity of our 35% Hydrogen Peroxide I want to stress the importance of safety. 35% to 3% Hydrogen Peroxide must be handled with respect and caution. Most of us understand the potential risk or hazardous of using a 3% Hydrogen Peroxide such as it is going to sting a little on open scrapes, cuts and infections topically.
Many of us growing up probably heard, “if it stings that means its working”, by a parent or caretaker. That’s still true. I would also like to say when using a 3% in a spray bottle such as our 3% Oral Care, be mindful of the way mist can drift with a draft or breeze if not applied directly in your mouth. Be cautious to avoid inadvertently having mist drift toward pets and people as you do not want product to get in eyes.
As we increase our concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide for the most part its not necessarily an increase in risk however an increase in the severity of consequence . I have personal had a tiny bit of of 3% mist contact my eyeballs I do not recommend this. I have come very close one time with 35% moving an empty barrel, wearing eye protection yet not full face protection, and had a piece of equipment do a little flick that just wet my eyelash. Please note I am around this stuff all day everyday and can attest, by using our recommended precautions and good common sense, you can very safely handle this product.
