A lot of negative press discouraging the use of hydrogen peroxide in treating Covid-19 has flooding the news last month.
We can understand why, however negative news does not change the truth. If you have doubts regarding the power of hydrogen peroxides efficacy in supporting human health, here is some information that landing in our mailbox.
A promising hydrogen peroxide anti-viral nasal spray is being developed by big pharma.
Patented Nasal Spray And Mouth Rinse
Combining hydrogen peroxide with hyaluronic acid a Milan head quartered biopharmaceutical and B2B company BMG Pharma created BMG0705 Nasal Spray and BMG0703A Mouth Rinse.
Using it’s chemical plant in Torviscosa (Italy) conducted a clinical study with 106 enrolled in the treatment of asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.
How The Nasal Spray Works
There findings goes on to state the efficacy of their patented hydrogen peroxide hyaluronic acid formula is based on the action of hydrogen peroxide and hyaluronic acid creating a protective layer in the nasal mucous. They add, “the barrier, adhering to the nasal mucous, can stop COVID-19 and other infections and prevents them from worsening.”
Our Opinion And Comments
This is some what of an oxymoron for us because that’s what the mucous naturally does already. However to be fair when the bodies immune system is down supporting elements can be beneficial in achieving health.
Hyaluronic acid is used in a multitude of skin care products and naturally again, found in the human body. Places like skin, eyes, joints and mucous membranes. Hyaluronic acid retains moisture and it is capable of binding over one thousand times its weight in water.
Here is a little fact hyaluronic acid used in beauty and skincare products is primarily made by bacteria in a lab via a process called biofermentation.
Acids being defined by an ability to bond with hydrogen, measured in PH 0-14. Less than 7 PH liquids are acid greater than 7 liquids are alkaline. Pure water is neutral at 7.
PH or “Potential hydrogen” gives a small clue of how water (H2O), hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) and hyaluronic acid are related.
I personally dilute to a 0.75% concentration hydrogen peroxide when using as a nasal spray. I feel blessed combined with a healthy diet rarely get sick, however my body has notified me when an unwanted guest has posted up in my nose. Personally I have used a 0.75% spray with great results.
More From The Press Release
They also state “These positive results could represent the starting point for the use of the products in the prevention as well as the early treatment of several infections such as SARS-CoV-2 and the reduction of risk of infection and spread of the virus.”
” Mouth Rinse forms a protective film that adheres to the oral mucous preventing further irritations, acting against external agents and helps to prevent complications caused by infections in the oral cavity such as seasonal flu and SarsCov-2.”
The study enrolled a total of 106 people, who completed an experimental protocol in the second quarter of 2021.
Hydrogen Peroxide Antivirus Nasal Spray Study Results Summary
The random allocation presented sufficient efficiency, as the associations between the trial arm and covariates showed P values greater than 0.05. In the placebo arm, 57.6 per cent of people had a positive PCR swab test following the index positive test, whereas in the active intervention arm that proportion was 31.9 per cent, with a P value for the difference of 0.008.
All subjects declared to have adhered to the study protocol and to have followed the prescription carefully (three full days of therapy) with no side effects.
The results from the analysis suggest that the active intervention under investigation can be effective in increasing the negativistic rate of a positive PCR nose swab test for SARS-CoV-2. Further research is needed to confirm these results in some population subgroups.
